Some Points about the Trek
The Har Ki Dun trek stands out as the most favored trek in the Garhwal Himalayas, boasting an elevation of 3600 meters. Commencing from the enchanting Sankri – a small paradise, and reaching the final road point at Taluka, this trek winds through four Himalayan villages: Dhatmir, Gangad, Panwani, and Osla, collectively known as marginal villages. Widely acclaimed not only in India but also globally, Har Ki Dun trek offers diverse temperatures throughout the seasons. In summer, expect daytime temperatures ranging from 5°C to 15°C and nighttime temperatures from 2°C to 8°C. During winter, brace for daytime temperatures of -2°C to -5°C and nighttime temperatures dropping to -5°C to -12°C.

For Har Ki Dun trek, participants are required to bring the following items:
- Sturdy hiking boots: Preferably all leather upper for better ankle support. If you do not own a pair yet, it is advisable that you buy one as soon as possible and wear it often so that they are well broken. This will help prevent blisters.
- Backpack of 50-60 liters
- Lightweight tennis shoes/sandals for wearing in camp.
- Long John top: 2, also known as thermal underwear, preferably wool to be worn as the first layer
- Hiking shirt: 1, preferably long sleeve
- Warm shirts & pants for camp: 2 each
- Wool socks (2 pairs preferably thick)
- Nylon socks: 2 pairs, of the type you wear daily, to be worn under the wool socks to prevent blisters.
- Hiking shirt (Preferably long sleeve)
- Long John top (2, preferably wool)
- Warm shirts & pants for camp (2 each)
- Raincoat/Poncho (1 each)
- Warm Jacket (1)
- Wool gloves (1 pair thick as available in the market.)
- Long John bottoms (Preferably wool to be worn as the first layer)
- Underwear (2-3 changes)
- Hiking shorts/pants (1)
- Head lamp/flashlight (Preferably a headlamp as it leaves your hands free to work. Please bring extra batteries)
- Sun hat (Cotton or nylon)
- Sun Glasses (Preferably with an anchor)
- Sun Protection Lotion (optional)
- Lip balm/chapstick (optional)
- Water bottle:- 2 Bottles of 1 liter capacity (Pepsi bottles works well). Please ensure that they do not leak.
- Toilet articles (Toothbrush, toothpaste etc)
- Personal medical kit (small)
